Long Ball Hurts as Softball Falls to James Madison

BOX SCORE SALEM, Va. – The Radford softball program fell victim to a slew of home runs in their Hokie Invite finale Sunday afternoon, falling to James Madison 11-0.

PLAY BY PLAY
After James Madison put up an unearned run in the first frame, the Dukes collected two more runs in the second off a two-run homer to go up 3-0. After a clean third, James Madison kept slugging with a pair of home runs that blew the game open at 6-0.

Looking for their first hit, Radford got it in lead off fashion thanks to Amanda Lee who doubled. Lee would be stranded there, though, as James Madison plated five more runs in the fifth thanks in part to a grand slam that ended the game due to run-rule 11-0.

UP NEXT
Radford looks to kick off their week of home games this upcoming Wednesday, March 11th with a single game against Campbell set for a 4:00 p.m. first pitch on ESPN+.
