Zimbeva Joins Zimbabwe National Team For U-23 CAF Olympic Qualifying

RADFORD, Va. – The Zimbabwe Football Association has added Radford men's soccer's Noel Zimbeva to their roster for the upcoming Under 23 CAF Olympic Qualifiers. The senior will be one of the 26 Young Warriors to face off against Mauritius during the upcoming international window.
The senior midfielder, originally from Harare, Zimbabwe, has played and started in all six of Radford's matches this season. Zimbeva added a goal from the spot in the Highlanders' win over James Madison back on August 29. He also had an assist against Bob Jones in a senior day win. The phenom has totaled 413 minutes of action for the Highlanders this season, while also earning Big South Midseason Watch List honors. He is the lone NCAA Division I player to join the national team roster, as most of its members come from the association football academy ranks.
Zimbeva transferred to Radford from Kansas Wesleyan, a NAIA program. Across three seasons with the Coyotes, he scored 15 goals in 56 games (50 starts). Zimbeva helped Kansas Wesleyan reach the NAIA National Tournament in 2024. He also played club soccer with Central Kansas United in the UPSL.
The Zimbabwe National Team is set to play two legs in the first round of the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations Qualifiers, with the first leg scheduled for Sept. 29 in Zimbabwe and Oct. 6 in Mauritius.
Radford men's soccer is back in action on Saturday, Sept. 19. The Highlanders host Winthrop to begin Big South play at 3:00 p.m. in Cupp Stadium.
