Men's Basketball Looks to Continue Streaks Monday against Charleston Southern

RADFORD, Va. – Winners of three straight contests, Radford looks to extend its conference streak to five when it concludes a two-game homestand with a 7 p.m. tip against Charleston Southern Monday evening at Peters Hall.

HIGHLANDER HITS
- The Highlanders' longest Big South spurt since the 2005-06 campaign reached four Saturday evening when they held off UNC Asheville 98-88 in overtime. Radford placed six players in double figures and shot 54.4 percent from the floor to keep its hold on second place in the Big South standings.

- Joey Lynch-Flohr (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) led the way for the Highlanders against UNCA with 22 points, connecting on 8-of-9 from the floor, while missing just one of his seven tries at the free throw line. Fellow junior Amir Johnson (Pittsburgh, Pa/Quaker Valley) went 10-for-13 from the charity stripe to finish with 18 points. The Radford point guard also pulled down seven rebounds and handed out seven assists.

- Also in double digits for the Highlanders were Kenny Thomas (Richmond, Va./Highland Springs) and Art Parakhouski (Minsk, Belarus), who added 15 points each, while Eric Hall (Greensboro, N.C./Ben L. Smith) and Chris McEachin (Norfolk, Va./Norview) contributed 11 and 10 off the bench, respectively.

- The last time Radford strung together five consecutive league triumphs was in February of 2002. To go along with their current streaks, the Highlanders are off to their best start in league play since beginning the 1999-2000 Big South slate 6-0.

- Parakhouski, who continues to rank among national leaders (T16th) and lead the conference in rebounds per game (10.2), paces three Radford players in double figures with a scoring clip of 14.5. The 6-11 center also leads the Big South in double-doubles with eight, and is connecting on 67.4 percent of his attempts from the field against conference foes. Lynch-Flohr and Thomas are also pouring in more than 10 points per contest with averages of 13.7 and 13.1 per outing.

- Charleston Southern enters the 57th meeting all-time 5-9 overall and 1-3 in the conference following a 19-point setback at Liberty Saturday. Opposite of the Highlanders, Charleston Southern comes into the contest having dropped its last six contests.

- The Buccaneers are led by Jamarco Warren, who ranks second among league scoring leaders with an average of 21.6 points per game.

- Monday's contest will be the last game for Radford at Peters Hall before returning to the Dedmon Center on Jan. 21 when it host VMI at 7 p.m. Prior to their contest with the league-leading Keydets, the Highlanders will travel to High Point for a 7 p.m. tip Saturday.
