RADFORD, Va. – On a brisk Saturday afternoon, Radford, on its home finale, scored three first half goals and junior
Jen Wisniewski (Centreville, Va./Westfield) stopped nine shots as the Highlanders remained undefeated in league play with a 4-0 victory over Davidson from RU Field Hockey Field.

It was the third shutout of the season for Wisniewski, helping Radford improve to 8-7 overall and 4-0 in the NorPac East. The Highlanders have won five of their last six contests.
Four different players dented the back of the cage as the Highlanders totaled their second highest goal output of the season. All four scorers tallied their second goals of the season.
After an early flurry by the Wildcats (4-11, 0-4 NorPac East), sophomore
Madonna Wadolowski (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahon) got things rolling for the Highlanders in the 13th minute. Wadolowski (pictured right) dribbled into the right side of the circle and fired the ball past Davidson keeper Krista Goeke, giving Radford the early 1-0 lead.
Freshman
Jennifer Balka (Wall, N.J./Wall) and sophomore
Melissa Register (Culpeper, Va./Culpeper) scored three minutes apart to push Radford's advantage to 3-0. Balka hit a reverse stick through Goeke's five hole, after taking a centering feed from the top of the circle by sophomore

Register's all-out effort resulted in the Highlander's third goal. Wadolowski centered the ball in front of the cage and a diving Register tipped it up and over the keeper's pads in the 28th minute.
The Wildcats came out in the second half and put pressure on the Highlander defense with a succession of offensive flurries. However Radford defense, along with Wisniewski were up to the task. RU's keeper made seven of her saves in the second half as Davidson racked up eight shots and eight corners.
Sophomore
Lynsey Daughtrey (Suffolk, Va./Lakeland) closed out the scoring in the 65th minute. She poked in a bouncing ball that deflected off several sticks on its way to the goal.
For the first time in conference play this season, Radford was out shot (17-11) and out cornered (13-3) by its opponent. Register and Wadolowski led the Highlanders with two shots while sophomore
Megan Lenhardt (Gloucester, Va./Gloucester) recording her fifth defensive save of the season.
Annie Evans and Christine Rua each registered a game-high four shots for the Wildcats. Goeke and Sarah Fisher each made two saves for Davidson.
Radford closes out the regular season with four contests on the road, beginning with conference foe Longwood on Friday, Oct. 23 at 5 p.m.
