VERSAGE NAMED TO VASID ALL-STATE FIELD HOCKEY SQUAD

RADFORD, VA. -- Radford field hockey standout Alayna Versage was named to the VaSID All-State Team, announced on Monday morning. Earning her first all-state accolade, the senior back was selected to the second team as voted on by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).

Coming off her second straight All-NorPac selection, Versage led the league and ranked third in the NCAA with nine defensive saves helping the Highlanders finish the season with a NCAA-best and school-record 23. Also matching a single-season mark, Versage posted two defensive stops on a pair of occasions against nationally-ranked North Carolina and NCAA runner-up Duke. Leading the squad the last three seasons, the Virginia Beach, Va. native finished her career atop the record books with 20, besting the previous mark by four.

On the offensive end, Versage added two goals and two assists, which included overtime game-winner against Davidson. Starting every game the last three seasons, she closed out her career with three goals, six assists and 12 points.
