Freshman Stephanie Cox (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) made two defensive saves and recorded her first collegiate assist.

Poole put Radford up 1-0 at 12:15 of the first half. On a corner, Poole deflected Cox's shot from the right into the roof of the cage. It was Poole's team-leading seventh goal.

The Highlanders added to its lead in the 49th minute when Register redirected junior Becca Devlin's (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's) shot past ASU keeper Bridgette Street for the eventual game-winner.

The Mountaineers cut the lead in half when Nicole Morgan poked home a rebound with 13 minutes left on the clock.

Radford regained its two-goal lead in the 64th minute, when Cariker knocked in her own rebound for her sixth tally of the season.

Radford out shot Appalachian State, 23-11 while the Mountaineers edged the Highlanders in corners, 8-7. Junior keeper Jen Wisniewski (Centreville, Va./Westfield) made two saves for the Highlanders, while her counterpart Street stopped 11 shots.
