ELON, N.C. – Despite five out of six singles matches going to three sets, Radford dropped a 6-1 decision to Elon in women's tennis on Sunday at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. 

The Highlanders drop to 2-2, while Elon improves to 4-3. 

Senior #Ally Spector# (Laurel, Md. /Reservoir) was the lone winner for the Highlanders at No.6 singles. 

Spector recovered from an 8-4 defeat at No.3 doubles with her teammate Mia Drobnjak (Umag, Croatia/Sportska gimnazija) to win her singles match in three-sets. She rallied after dropping the first set 3-6 to win the next two sets 6-4, 6-1 over Laura Graybill of Elon. 

In the other singles action, the balance of power swayed in each way with No.1, No. 2, No. 3 and No.5 singles all going into three-sets with the outcome not for certain until the final swing. 

Petra Dajevic (Umag, Croatia/Sportska gimnazija) and Drobnjak recorded the first lost of this young season at No.1 and No.2 singles. 

The Highlanders return to action on Friday February, 13 when they travel to Lexington, Va. to face Washington & Lee at 3:30.
