RADFORD, Va. -- After two cancellations due to bad weather, the Radford women's tennis team opened its home schedule with a 6-1 win over Presbyterian Saturday afternoon at the Radford University Tennis Courts.
The Highlanders improve to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in conference, while the Blue Hose drop to 2-10 overall and 0-3 in conference.
Petra Dajevic (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska gimnazija) and Ivana Tomaic ( Zagreb, Croatia/Third Gymnasium) used precise volleys to give the Highlanders an early 1-0 advantage. The duo pushed their winning streak to six with an 8-6 victory over Abby Diminich and Megan Davis.
In singles competition, the Highlanders took five out of the six matches, all of them in straight-sets. Tomaic didn't drop a point as she was able to defeat Davis and give the Highlanders their sixth win in seven matches.
Dajevic continues to roll in singles competition as she defeated Abby Diminich in straight-sets to run her streak to six straight.
Radford will be back in action Monday, March 23 at 3:00 p.m. against North Carolina A&T.
