Rivers went 3-for-4 and hit a two-out three-run homer in the fifth inning to give the Highlanders (19-14) a 8-0 lead over the Wildcats (13-21). The long ball was the third of the season for Rivers, a career-high.

Joining Rivers with three hits were freshman middle infielders Jeff Kemp (Bowie, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and Brett Mollenhauer (Roanoke, Va./Hidden Valley), who went 3-for-4 each.
The Highlanders also got a second-straight eight-inning performance from freshman left-handed starter Paul DeVito (Annapolis, Md./Archbishop Spalding), who earned his sixth win of the season (6-1).
Three Davidson players had multi-hit efforts, led by designated hitter Danny Weiss with his sixth-inning two-run homer to right center field, making the score 8-3. Right fielder Chase Fitzpatrick and second baseman Graham Chapman had two hits each.
Right-hander Ryan Overcash allowed three runs in a three-inning start, taking the loss (0-2). He was one of six hurlers to see action for the Wildcats.
