RADFORD, Va.—Good all-around play up and down the line helped Radford shutout George Mason 7-0 Friday evening in women's tennis action at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
The Highlanders improve to 12-5 overall, while the Patriots drop to 6-8-overall.
The Radford duo of
Ally Spector (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) and
Mia Drobnjak (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska giminazija) captured the 12th doubles point of the season for the Highlanders when Drobnjak dropped a backhand volley in between Sarah Dieffenbach and Alicia Van Zandt to give the Highlanders an early 1-0 advantage.
Radford continued to pour it on in the singles as well, winning all six matches in straight-set fashion. Freshman
Emerald Lauzon (Bristol, Va./John S Battle) secured the win for the Highlanders with a 6-4, 6-3, win over Aryn Christman at the six spot.
Petra Dajevic (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska giminazija) continues to roll in singles competition as she defeated Lindsay Gray in straight-sets to run her streak to nine straight.
Radford will be back in action Saturday, April 3 at 1:30 p.m. against Liberty.
