ROCK HILL, S.C. – In addition to the Radford women's golf team leading, junior
Jade Okamoto is tied for first individually following round one of the Winthrop Invitational Saturday.
The 36-hole event is being played on the Par 72, 5,900-yard Rock Hill Country Club layout.
The Highlanders carded a 301 and will enter the final round four strokes clear of Gardner-Webb and eight shots ahead of the host Eagles.
Okamoto fired a one-over 73 and is tied for the lead with Sammy Vass of Gardner-Webb.
Radford's
Hannah Coles is just two back of Okamoto in a tie for sixth, while freshmen
Paige Reese and
Kirsty Condon are also in contention for the Highlanders following rounds of 76 (T-9th) and 77 (T-12th), respectively.
The final round of the annual event will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday morning.
