The Highlanders (7-4, 1-2 NorPac East), donning pink paraphernalia, hit the field in search of a victory over the Mountaineers (5-6, 1-1) who upended them 2-1 last Friday in Boone, N.C. Appalachian State jumped out to a 2-0 lead and held on for the one-goal triumph. In doing so, the Mountaineers ended a nine-game losing streak to the Highlanders dating back to the end of the 2004 season.

Melissa Register provided Radford's lone tally of the night with just 1:05 left in the first half giving the Highlanders some momentum going into halftime. Despite relentless offensive pressure (18-5 advantage in shots) the rest of the contest, Radford was unable to solve ASU keeper Bridgette Street, who finished the night with 11 saves.
The Mountaineers are also looking to get back on the winning track after they fell at home to Longwood, 4-2, on Sunday afternoon.
