ORLANDO, Fla. – The Radford women's tennis team picked up it's second straight win by defeating Sacred Heart, 7-0, in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon.

The Highlanders improve to 4-3, while the Pioneers drop to 5-6.

For the second consecutive day, the Highlanders were able to capture wins in two out of the three doubles matches. #Mia Drobnjak# (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska Gimnazija) teamed with #Sara Tegner# (Amal, Sweden/Karlbergs Gymnasium) to defeat Elizabeth Harrington and Kristina Chao, 8-2. The Highlander duo of #Petra Dajevic# (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska Gimnazija) and #Emerald Lauzon# (Bristol, Va./John S. Battle) seized the doubles point with a thrilling 9-8 victory over Kate Donnelly and Delaney Downing.

Elsewhere in doubles action, Ivana Tomaic (Zagreb, Croatia/Third Gymnasium) and #Mirna Matic# (Umag, Croatia/Vladimir Gortan Buje) fell, 8-2, to Darcy Demers and Julianne Kasinow at the No.1 spot.

In singles action, Tomaic won by retirement over Demers at the No.2 position, while Drobnjak cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win over Donnelly at the No. 1 position. Tegner posted the match-clinching win for the Highlanders, earning a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Kasinow on court five.

With the match already in hand, Matic put Radford on top 5-0, topping Kristina Chao, 6-3, 6-4. Dajevic was impressive at No. 3, dispatching of Harrington in straight-sets, 6-0, 6-3. Lauzon finished the match for the Highlanders, rebounding for a 6-1, 4-6, 10-1 decision over Downing at No. 6.

The Highlanders return to action on tomorrow against South Dakota at 11:30 a.m.
