RADFORD, Va. – Mia Drobnjak of the Radford women's tennis team has been named the Big South Choice Hotels Player of the Week for matches played March 8-14, as announced by the league office.

“I am very pleased with Mia's progress,” commented head coach Bruce Harrison. “She is getting stronger every match and we are pleased that she is being honored with this award.”

Drobnjak was a combined 8-0 at No.1 singles and No.2 doubles. She has a four-match winning streak in singles and doubles play.

In Sunday's match against conference foe Gardner-Webb, she teamed with Sara Tegner to defeat Rita Gouveia and Ioana Oprea at the No. 2 spot, then she defeated Erica White in straight-sets, 6-3, 6-4, to help the Highlanders pick up their first conference win of the season.

The Highlanders will be back on the courts March 19 when they face Howard University at 2:00 pm.
