CLINTON, S.C. – The Radford women's tennis team pushed their winning streak to eight by defeating Presbyterian 7-0 in Big South action Saturday afternoon at the PC Tennis Complex.

The Highlanders improve to 10-3 overall and 2-1 in conference, while the Blue Hose drop to 3-12 overall and 1-3.

Radford grabbed an early 1-0 advantage by sweeping the doubles portion. At No. 2 doubles, Mia Drobnjak (Zagreb, Croatia/Sporska Gimnazija) and Sara Tegner (Amal,Sweden/Karlbergs Gymnasium) defeated Olivia McMillan and Virginia Waldron, 8-4. The duo of Petra Dajevic (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska Gimnazija ) and Emerald Lauzon (Bristol, Va./John S Battle) secured the point with an 8-5 win over Megan Davis and Daryl Thompson on court two.

With the doubles point already decided, Ivana Tomaic (Zagreb, Croatia/Third Gymasium, Kuslanova) and Mirna Matic (Umag, Croatia/Vladmir Gortan, Buje) outlasted Heather Heusel and Paige Oelke 9-7 at the top spot.

In singles action, Drobnjak pushed her winning streak to eight straight with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over McMillan on court one. Tomaic put the Highlanders up 3-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 defeat of Heusel. For the third time in as many matches, Tegner clinched the match for Radford with a straight-set victory over Cara Caruso.

Lauzon, Dajevic and Matic each needed a third set to dispatch of their respective opponent. Lauzon defeated Thompson 1-6, 7-5, 11-9, Dajevic pushed her record to 10-3 with her win over Oelke and Matic topped Davis 7-6, 3-6, 10-4.

The Highlanders will back on the court April 1 against in-state foe Liberty at 2:00 p.m.
