CONWAY, S.C. – The Radford women's tennis team dropped its Big South opener at Coastal Carolina, 7-0, Sunday afternoon at Billy Nichols Tennis Center.
The Highlanders fall to 2-3, while the Chanticleers improve to 9-1.
Radford faltered in the doubles matches, dropping all three. At No. 2 doubles, the Highlander tandem of
Mia Drobnjak (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska Gimnazija) and
Sara Tegner (Amal, Sweden/Karlbergs Gymnasium) took Paty Cortes and Mary Hill to limit before falling, 8-6.
In singles action,
Petra Dajevic (Zagreb, Croatia/Sportska Gimnazija) battled with Kim Webb for three grueling sets. With the tilt tied one set apiece, Webb edged Dajevic 10-8 in the third-set tiebreaker.
The Highlanders return to action on March 9 against Appalachian State at 12:00 p.m.
