RADFORD, Va. -- Radford returns home to host Gardner-Webb in a three-game Big South series this weekend after a short road trip to Longwood on Wednesday. The teams will play two on Friday, April 2 starting at 2 p.m. and conclude Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Highlanders (17-10, 5-1 Big South) are coming off a split with the Lancers, falling in game one 8-3 before rebounding with a 12-0 victory in game two.
The Bulldogs (11-20, 1-1) remain on the road after dropping a doubleheader on Wednesday at Furman by the scores of 5-1 and 9-8 in nine innings. Gardner-Webb is look to snap a five-game skid when it steps on the field this afternoon.
In the early goings of conference play, Radford is currently in second place with a 5-1 mark after sweeping Charleston Southern last weekend. GWU has played just two contest, splitting with Presbyterian on March 27 at home.
Radford rebounded with a 12-0 win in game two to earn a split at Longwood, Wednesday afternoon from Lancer Field. The Lancers (23-11) defeated the Highlanders, 8-3 in game one.
Radford scored 11 runs in the first three frames and cruised to a 12-0 game two victory. The Highlanders pounded out 13 hits and were led at the plate by
Shannon Keefe who went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, four RBI and three runs scores.
Hope Creasy knocked in four runs with a pair of hits.
Kristen Shifflett and
Nichole Beall also had two hits. Shifflett recorded her sixth home run of the season, scored three runs and had two stolen bases.
In game one, Longwood scored three runs in the first inning and did not look back in an 8-3 victory.
Jackie Jenkins made her collegiate debut with two innings of relief. She struck out the first batter she faced in the fifth and finished allowing a run on five hits.
Morgan Eye recorded her first collegiate hit for the Highlanders.
Keefe leads the Highlanders and the Big South with a .429 batting average and has tallied a team-best 10 doubles with three home runs and 21 RBI. Shifflett bats .388 with seven doubles, six home runs and a team-high 28 runs scored.
Beall and Creasy are tops on the team with nine home runs each with Creasy leading Radford with 23 RBI.
Gardner-Webb, playing its second league series, is currently on a five-game slide. The Bulldogs are led offensively by first baseman Christa Fullwood. The 2009 first-team all-conference selection, is batting .385 with seven doubles, four home runs, 29 RBI and 18 runs scored. Starting all 31 games, she has committed just one error in 190 chances at first.
In the circle, Cindy Boomhower is 3-8 with a team-best 3.34 ERA with 70 strikeouts in 73.1 innings of work. Christine Murray is 6-9 with a 3.69 ERA and a team-high 85 punchouts.
