The 54-hole/9-team event is being played on the Par 72, 5,956-yard The Patriot Club layout.
As a team, the Highlanders recorded a spring-low 304 and will enter day two just one behind top-seeded Coastal Carolina (303) and 10 back of team-leader Charleston Southern (294).
