The Highlanders are coming off a three-game Big South sweep of Presbyterian last weekend at home. The victories extended their winning streak to a season-long nine contests.

Catcher Sarah Himan and outfielder Hope Creasy will be playing their final home game in a Highlander uniform this evening. The duo will be recognized in a pregame ceremony.

This class has played a key roll in the Highlanders becoming one of the top teams in the Big South and the South Region. Along with helping the program to its first Big South Championship in 2009 and competing in the NCAA Regionals, they also were members of the first Radford team to win a NCAA Tournament contest.

Over the course of four seasons, these seniors have been part of a Highlander squad that has won 156 games, including 48 in Big South play. Combining to play 436 contests, this duo has been an integral part in the recent and future success of Highlander Softball.

Both players rank in the top 10 in several of the program's career categories including home runs, RBI and doubles. Himan and Creasy have each earned first team all-conference and all-state accolades with Himan garnering all-region recognition in 2009.

In Radford's last contest, Meredith Moore hit a two-out game-winning grand slam, highlighting a five-run fifth and lifting Radford to a 6-3 come from behind victory over Presbyterian. The win completed the three-game series sweep Sunday afternoon from RU Softball Field.

Radford trailed 3-1 after the first inning and were unable to generate many scoring opportunities over the next three frames before breaking through against PC relief pitcher Mary Gordon.

The Highlanders cut it to 3-2 after Creasy drew a bases loaded walk. Moore quickly fell behind 0-2. Following a ball, she lofted the next pitch over the rightfield fence for the game-winning grand slam. It was Moore's fourth long ball of the season and the first grand slam of her softball career.

Virginia Tech enters tonight's single game after dropping two-of-three in ACC competition at Maryland last weekend. The Hokies have dropped nine of their last 12 contests picking up wins over Maryland and East Tennessee State.
