RADFORD, Va. – The Radford women's tennis team fell to Winthrop, 7-0, in Big South action Friday afternoon at the RU Tennis Courts.

The loss drops the Highlanders to 12-5 overall and 3-3 conference, while the Eagles improve to 10-8 and 4-1.

Winthrop won all three doubles matches before recording straight-set victories in five out of the six singles matches.

In the most competitive match of the day, Petra Dajevic claimed the first set 6-1, before dropping the next two, 7-6, 11-9, to Giovanna Portioli.

The Highlanders will back on the court April 18 against conference foe UNC Asheville at 1:00 p.m.
