LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior
Jade Okamoto (Huntington Beach, Calif. / Marina) and freshman
Paige Reese (South Hill, Va. / Park View) sit tied for 11th and the Radford women's golf team is currently fifth out of 17 teams following 36 holes of the 2010 Bucknell Invitational Saturday.
The two-day tournament is being played on the Par 70, 6,006-yard Bucknell Golf Club layout.
Okamoto played her morning round in seven-over 77 before leading the Highlanders in the afternoon with a 75.
Playing in her first collegiate event, Reese played both rounds in six-over 76 and is also just five strokes off the individual lead, currently held by Bucknell's Minjoo Lee (147).
Senior
Hannah Coles (Birmingham, England / The Coleshill School) bounced back with a 76 in the second round to move into 31st, one stroke clear of teammate
Kirsty Condon (Lincolnshire, England / Kesteven and Sleaford) (80-81=161), who is also making her collegiate debut this weekend.
Also competing for the Highlanders is junior
Amy McCollum (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford), who is currently tied with a group at 168.
As a team, Radford (317-308 = 625) will enter the final round just four strokes out of fourth and nine behind third-place Rutgers.
Playing on its home course, Bucknell (303-304 = 607) holds the top spot on the team leaderboard by five swings over defending champ William & Mary.
The final round of the 10th annual event will begin at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
