WOMEN’S GOLF TIED FOR FOURTH AFTER FIRST DAY OF CSU WENDY’S INVITE

FIRST ROUND RESULTS

CHARLESTON, S.C.
Radford women's golf concluded the first day of the CSU Wendy's Invitational Monday afternoon tied for fourth highlighted by a three-over round from sophomore Kirsty Condon (Lincolnshire, England/Kesteven and Sleaford).

The 36-hole event is being played on the par-71, 6,010-yard layout at Coosaw Creek Country Club and features a 16-team field.

Condon dropped a birdie on the first hole and led all Highlanders with a 74.   She is in contention for the individual title, as she is currently tied for fifth and four strokes back of Marshall's Allison Harper heading into the final round tomorrow.

As a team, the Highlanders (310) are in a three-way tie for fourth with Big South associate member Bucknell and Stetson and are 11 strokes back of Marshall for the team lead.

“The team really battled today.  We didn't get off to the best of starts but we finished well,” mentioned head coach Jeff Beeler.  “Kirsty was very solid all day and we're looking forward to the final round.”

Courtesy of four birdies, freshman Alex Austin (Burke, Va./Robinson Secondary) joined Condon in the Top-10 with a four-over 75.

Senior Jade Okamoto (Huntington Beach, Calif./Marina) currently sits tied for 26th with a 78 (+7).
