WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Radford field hockey fell at Wake Forest, 5-0, on Tuesday evening from Kentner Stadium.

Rebecca May (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional) made 11 saves, one shy of her career high, for the Highlanders (7-9)
Emily Cummings, off a feed from Lizzie Rae, struck just 3:26 into the match for Wake Forest. Kari Walkley tallied the next to Deacon scores, both coming off rebounds in the 16th minute and after time expired on a penalty corner.
Radford, which earned five corners on the evening, had two scoring opportunities in the first half denied as senior
Marlee Schramm's (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) attempt was blocked less than a minute after Wake's second score. The other came in the 28th minute, but a shot by senior
Madonna Wadolowski (Norwalk, Conn./Brien McMahan) was denied by Deacon keeper Kaitlyn Ruhf.
The Highlanders earned three more corners during a minute span that started midway in the 49th minute. However, the first and third scoring attempts were blocked, sandwiched around Ruhf's second save of the evening.
Rae and Adelaide Knott closed out the scoring for Wake with scores in the 44th and 69th minute, respectively.
Wadolowski finished with two of Radford's six shots. Wake Forest totaled 20 shots and each squad ended with five corners.
The Highlanders head to Richmond on Sunday for a match with the Spiders at 1:00 pm.
