Radford will try for its first Big South conference wins of the season this weekend, when the Highlanders travel to Presbyterian for a three-game series beginning on Friday afternoon.

The trip is the second to Presbyterian for Radford since the Blue Hose played their first league season in 2009 – the Highlanders took two of the three series games. Radford swept Presbyterian at home last season.

After dropping all three games of their conference-opening series at Charleston Southern last weekend, the Highlanders got back on track with their first win over neighboring Virginia Tech since 2004, a 7-5 win in Blacksburg on Tuesday night.

Tuesday's win improved the Highlanders to an 8-10 mark away from home in 2011.

Presbyterian (16-9, 3-3 Big South) enters the weekend with the league's second-highest overall win percentage (.640). During the middle of March, Presbyterian was the league's hottest team after winning nine straight games, including a win over No. 16 Clemson on March 16. The Blue Hose took two of three from High Point to open their league slate March 18-20, and dropped two of three to VMI at home last weekend.

With Wednesday's rain out, the weekend at Presbyterian extends Radford's streak of road games to 10. Following next Tuesday's game at No. 1 Virginia, the Highlanders will play eight in a row at home to open their new ballpark. Opening night is set for April 8, when the Highlanders begin their series with VMI.
