Noonan’s Commanding Performance on the Mound Earnes Him Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference announced Monday afternoon that Parker Noonan has been named the Freshman of the Week after an outstanding performance against James Madison that saw the Highlanders pick up a 10-6 victory.

Noonan's outing against James Madison played a large role in the Highlanders midweek victory and earned the freshman his first career win for the Highlanders. He delivered five strong innings allowing four hits and three runs, only one of which was earned. Over the 20 batters he faced on the day, he recorded two strikeouts while holding opponents to a .180 batting average. Noonan's performance also earned the Highlanders their first sweep of the season series against James Madison since 2015.

The award marks the second for the Highlanders this season as fellow teammate Raymond Ladd also earned Pitcher of the Week. This is also Noonan's first award as a Highlander.

The Highlanders are currently preparing for a midweek New River Valley matchup against the Virginia Tech Hokies. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31st, with everything being streamed on ESPN+.
