FINAL RESULTS
NINETY-SIX, S.C. – Playing in her final collegiate tournament, senior
Hannah Coles led Radford with a 15th place showing at the 2011 Big South Women's Golf Championship April 11-13.
The 54-hole event was played on the Par 72, 6,025-yard The Patriot at Grand Harbor layout.
Coles, a two-time all-conference performer, finished the three-day event at 238 (79-80-79).
As a team, the Highlanders carded a final round score of 318 to finish six strokes behind fourth-place High Point and 10 back of second-seeded Bucknell.
Despite its fifth-place finish at the season-ending event, Radford enjoyed one of its most successful seasons in school history. The Highlanders recorded five Top-5 showings in nine tournaments, including just the second win in program history and a runner-up finish in the 24-team Great Smokies Women's Intercollegiate (Sept. 18-19).
Jade Okamoto came home tied for 19th, while Radford freshman
Paige Reese finished one back of her teammate in a tie for 21st.
Also competing for the Highlanders were
Kirsty Condon (27th) and
Amy McCollum (33rd).
Ranked 48th in the nation, Coastal Carolina saved its best for last carding the only sub-300 round of the event to claim the team title by 18 shots over Gardner-Webb.
Like her team, the Chanticleers' Jessica Alexander (75-78-72 = 225) fired the tournament's lowest round on the last day to take home the individual crown.
