LONGWOOD SPOILS WOMEN’S TENNIS’ “SENIOR DAY”, 5-2

RADFORD, Va. – Longwood spoiled Radford's “Senior Day” with a 5-2 victory in non-conference action Sunday afternoon at the RU Tennis Courts.

The Highlanders finish their regular season 6-14, while the Lancers improve to 8-7 on the season.

Longwood came out with the early advantage taking two out of the three doubles matches. Seniors Ivana Tomaic and Mirna Matic recorded the lone win for Radford with a 9-8 (6) decision on court two.

In singles competition, the Lancers secured the victory with wins on courts four, five and six.

With the match already decided, Petra Dajevic tallied the first win for the Highlanders with a 6-3, 2-6, 10-7 decision on court one, shortly after Tomaic came from behind to record the last win on court three with a 6-3, 5-7, 10-5 victory.

The Highlanders will be back on the court Thursday to take on No. 3 Liberty in the first round of the Big South Championships in Rock Hill, S.C. at 12 p.m.
