RADFORD, Va. – Radford field hockey coach
Jeff Woods has announced his incoming class of 2015. Ten student-athletes will join the Highlanders with eight hailing from Virginia and two from New Jersey.

Paige Doughty (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan),
Jennifer Hedrick (Suffolk, Va./Lakeland),
Taylor Johnson (Chesterfield, Va./Cosby),
Kellen Keys (Midlothian, Va./Monacan),
Amy Kinkler (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford),
Rebecca May (Swedesboro, N.J./Kingsway Regional),
Sydney Myrdal (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam), and
Jordan Vrhovac (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) will don the red and white in the fall of 2011.
“This class is one of the strongest, fastest and most talented we have had in years and we are looking forward to them joining our squad this fall!” said Woods.

Two-time first team all-district and second team all-region… Chesapeake Public Schools Academic Scholar-Athlete… Team captain as a senior… Four-year starter for the Bruins under Dawn Smith… Earned all-tournament honors (York and CNU)… Plans to major in elementary education… Member of the National Honor Society.
Taylor Deivert

Fairfax, Va./Fairfax High School
Led Fairfax with 15 goals and seven assists her senior year and was named to the
Washington Post's Honorable Mention All-Met Team… Garnered First Team All-Liberty District as a junior and senior… A 2010 All-Northern Region selection, while earning second team honors in 2009… Two-time member of the Lee High School All-Tournament team… Helped Lions to a pair of district championships and regional final four appearance in 2009… A 2010 Triathlete Award recipient as an all-region performer in both track & field and swimming & diving... Plans to study Criminal Justice.
Paige Doughty

Three-time First Team All-Peninsula District… 2010
Daily Press All-Star… Garnered All-Eastern Region recognition the past three seasons… Top offensive player and team captain in 2010… Helped the Warriors to a pair of district tournament championships in 2008 and 2009… Participated in Futures Elite (2009-10) and Futures (2007-08) as selected to 2009 and 2010 Futures National Tournament… Four-year member of the soccer team earning honors in 2008 and 2010… National Honor Society member… Plans to major in physical therapy.
Jennifer Hedrick
5-10, Midfield/Forward
Suffolk, Va./Lakeland
Guided Lakeland to a 2010 AAA State Championship and a perfect 24-0 season... Earned first-team all-state, region and district honors… Also keyed the Cavaliers to three district championships and a state final four appearance… Participated in Futures (2007-10) and was a member of the U19 Saints Hockey Rocks, who claimed the 2011 USA Field Hockey National Festival in Phoenix, Ariz…. Plans to study Pre-Veterinary Medicine (Biology).

Selected to the Dominion District First Team and also garnered first team all region and second team all-state honors in 2010… Second team all-district as a junior… 2010 team captain… Member of the Saints and Fusion Club Hockey programs… District all-academic award recipient all four years… Plans to enter the nursing program.

As a senior, garnered First Team All-Central Region and
Richmond Times Dispatch All-Metro accolades, while being selected to the all-state second team… Two-time First Team All-Dominion District honoree…
Digital Sports Fall Sports Player of the Week (10/30/09)… Helped Monacan to 2010 a Regional semifinal… 2009-10 USA Field Futures participant… Member of the National Honor and National Art Honor Societies… Also lettered in track & field (discus, shot put, 100 M and 4x100)… Plans to study art education.
