3 ATHLETES WRAP UP TRACK & FIELD SEASON AT NCAA EAST PRELIMINARY


BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Seniors Raschad Kelso and Nikki Roseberry completed their Highlander careers and junior Curtis Hodge ended his first year at Radford as track and field wrapped up NCAA East Preliminary competition on Friday.

Kelso turned in a 21.69 performance in the 200m, good for 35th place.  Hodge finished 41st in the hammer throw with a 54.63m/179'3” mark, seven spots ahead of his seed (48).  Roseberry didn't record on a mark on the day.

Kelso ranked 48th in the region and was second fastest in Conference in the 200m.  It will be his second year running the 200 and third year overall making it to East Regional.  Kelso set the new school standard (21.26) with his runner-up, all-conference showing at the Big South Championship.  He is also coming off his first outdoor win of the season at the Clemson Tiger Qualifier.  

Hodge's is no stranger at the top of the results, as he collected eight Top 5's this year.  Hodge found a rhythm towards the latter portion of the schedule, claiming his first victory at the Carolina's Cup and back-to-back titles at the Radford Invitational and Liberty Twilight.

Roseberry cleared 1.75m/5'8.75” in the high jump two times this year  The first instance came at the Coastal Carolina Invitational, where she cleared the bar at a new school-record height and the second school-tying leap occurred at the Radford Invitational, where she also a new Cupp Stadium Track record. It stood as the top mark in the Big South this year.  Roseberry recorded three victories and six Top 5 finishes this season.
