Radford University field hockey has an important weekend ahead as the Highlanders take on NorPac foes Liberty on the road Friday (7:00) and back at home against Longwood on Sunday (2:00). The contest in Lynchburg was originally scheduled for 6:00 p.m., but was moved to its new time on Thursday morning.
 
A LOOK AT RU: The Highlanders dropped a pair of contests in Philadelphia last weekend to Temple and Penn… Radford is 1-2 in the NorPac, a half game and game behind the Lady Flames and Lancers, respectively… Freshmen Stacey Mackintosh and Jana Bayer pace the offense with four and three goals apiece… Junior keeper Sidney Encarnacion currently ranks seventh in the NCAA in saves per game (8.64).
 
A LOOK AT LIBERTY: The Lady Flames (8-5, 1-1 NorPac East) will be hosting their first league contest on Friday and will also entertain Longwood on Saturday… Liberty split at home last weekend earning a 2-1 win over Villanova before having its five-match winning streak snapped against VCU on Sunday by the same score… Nine different Lady Flames have scored a goal this season led by Sarah Gipe's nine and Natalie Barr's six… Brooke Morley has started nine games in the cage with 48 saves and a .727 save percentage.

A LOOK AT LONGWOOD: Last week the Lancers (3-11, 2-1) split a pair of one-goal league road matches… Longwood defeated Appalachian State, 5-4, in Boone on Sunday after dropping a 3-2 shootout to Davidson… The Lancers will travel to Lynchburg on Saturday before heading to Radford on Sunday… Freshman Jennifer Burris was named NorPac East Rookie of the Week for the second time this season… Stacey de Grandhomme leads the squad with NorPac-best 10 goals and four assists, while Jessica Diaz has added eight goals and Burris is tops with five assists.

LIBERTY SERIES: This will be the third meeting between the squad, each winning on the road… The Lady Flames won this season's first matchup, 2-1, in double overtime, at RU Hockey Field… The Highlanders earned a 3-1 win at LU Field Hockey Field in 2011.
 
LONGWOOD SERIES: Radford owns a 14-11-2 record against Longwood… The Lancers swept last season's series with 3-2 (OT) and 3-1 triumphs, and have won three of the last four matchups… Longwood has posted victories in the last two meetings at RU Hockey Field.

UP NEXT: Radford travels to nationally-ranked Wake Forest on Wednesday before wrapping up its home schedule next Sunday against Appalachian State.
