RADFORD FIRES SEASON-LOW 303, TIED FOR SEVENTH AT CSU WENDY’S INVITATIONAL

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. –
After opening with a 314 in the first round, the Radford women's golf team posted a season-low 303 in the second round and is tied for seventh entering the final round of the CSU Wendy's Invitational contested at the par 72, 6,021-yard Rivertowne Country Club.
 
The Highlanders' two-round ledger of 617 is tied with USC Beaufort (302-315) and only one stroke behind Western Carolina's 616 (312-304). Richmond turned in a 587 (293-294) and is 10 shots clear of tournament host Charleston Southern, which carded a 597 (304-293).
 
Leading the Highlanders through two rounds of play is Hayley Hammond, who finished at 151 (76-75) and is tied for 12th. One shot behind Hammond is Kirsty Condon, who continued her success at this event from a year ago by returning a 152 (80-72) to the clubhouse. The second-round even-par 72 is tied for the lowest score recorded by a Highlander this season.
 
Paige Reese matched her season-low 36-hole total with a 153 (76-77) Monday to tie for 23rd, while Alexandra Austin registered a 161 (82-79) and is tied for 54th. Katie Parrott logged a 167 (87-80) and is in 68th.
 
Jenna Birch of Armstrong Atlantic and Maria Kjelldorff of Western Carolina are tied atop the 76-player leaderboard with a 2-under-par 142. A pair of Spiders—Tracy Martin and Courtney Rousse—lurk one shot behind at 1-under-par 143.
 
The final round get underway Tuesday with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Radford will go off holes 7-10 with USC Beaufort and USC Upstate. Live scoring is available through Golfstat by clicking here.
