On the heels of a historic scoring outburst and three straight positive results, Radford looks to continue its strong play in a Wednesday night Big South men's soccer matchup at Longwood.
The Highlanders (4-2-3, 2-0 Big South), unbeaten in their last three, will meet the Lancers for the first time with conference points on the line – Longwood (3-7-1, 2-5-1) became the newest Big South member over the summer.
Recent success has also pushed Radford into regional recognition - the Highlanders received votes in the Oct. 2 NSCAA/Continental Tire South Atlantic Region Poll.

HIGHLANDER NOTES
- Saturday's 6-1 win over Gardner-Webb was the first time the Highlanders have scored six goals in a victory since 1995, when they accomplished the feat twice that season. Radford last scored six goals in a 7-6 loss to Winthrop on Oct. 30, 2002.
- In the latest NCAA statistical rankings, Bernardo Ulmo ranks 12th in goals with seven, which is also good for second in the Big South. Ulmo has scored seven times in as many matches and provided the game-winner on Saturday night.
- Radford ranks in the top-50 nationally in scoring offense (42nd out of 201) entering the week's games.
- Joe Mayer and Ramzi Dridi joined Ulmo as the only Highlanders with multi-goal games this season – both Mayer and Dridi scored twice against Gardner-Webb in the second half on Saturday.
- The play in goal from Ryan Taylor has been good for the Highlanders – Taylor has nine saves in his last two games. His .787 save percentage is third in the Big South.
- Entering the week, the Highlanders rank fourth in the Big South in scoring (1.89 goals/game) and third in shots (14.89/game).
- On the pitch, the Highlanders have been on their best behavior this season. Radford has drawn a league-low five yellow cards – the next best total is nine.
THE MATCHUP
- Radford has a 6-4-1 all-time series lead over Longwood heading into the first Big South match between the two programs. The two teams have met on a yearly basis since 2003.
- Longwood is second in the league standings with seven points, but quirky scheduling has made Wednesday's game the next-to-last league contest for the Lancers.
- Longwood picked up a non-conference win its last time out, a 3-1 win at George Washington on Saturday afternoon.
