FIELD HOCKEY FALLS AT TEMPLE, 5-1

BOX SCORE PHILADELPHIA – Radford field hockey dropped a 5-1 decision at Temple on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Jana Bayer tallied her third goal of the season in the defeat.

After two quick goals by the Owls (8-6), including 13 second into the match, Bayer made it 2-1 when she struck just 20 seconds after Temple grabbed a 2-0 lead. Sophomore Ashton Cox set up her score.

However, Temple tallied two more in the first half to take a 4-1 lead into halftime. The Owls added one more in the second half to close out the scoring.

Junior Alayna Versage recorded her second defensive save of the season, while keeper Sidney Encarnacion made six saves. Freshman Jillian Lates stopped three shots in the final 10 minutes for the Highlanders (1-9).
 
Radford turns right around and takes on Penn tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
