AUSTIN LEADS RADFORD ON FIRST DAY OF KIAWAH ISLAND INTERCOLLEGIATE

FIRST DAY RESULTS

KIAWAH, S.C. – After the first round of the season-opening Kiawah Island Intercollegiate, Alexandra Austin leads all Radford women's golfers and is currently tied for 29th in a 179-player field.

Austin carded a five-over 77 after completion of the first 18 holes. She tallied two birdies, one on the front and the other on the back-nine.

Paige Reese also turned in a solid first round at six-over 78. She charted a birdie on holes 13 and 17, respectively. Reese currently finds herself in a tie for 74th.

The four-player team recorded a 327 on one of the tougher courses and strongest fields Radford will see all year.

The Highlanders competed on the Oak Point course on a par-72, 5,902-yard layout.

Second-round action gets underway tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m.
