BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech scored six unanswered runs from the bottom of the sixth on to rally for a 7-3 win over Radford on Tuesday night.
 
The Highlanders (8-9) led the game through the middle of the sixth, but the Hokies (13-4) got three in the bottom of the inning, then a three-run home run by Andrew Rash (5) in the bottom of the seventh to take control.  Five of Virginia Tech's runs came with two outs.
 
Matt Mack and Carl Travers had two hits each for Radford.  Right-handed starter Jake Palese went five innings, struck out four and allowed two earned runs, leaving the game with the lead.
 
Jake Atwell went 3-for-4 with a pair of sixth-inning RBIs on a game-tying single.  Johnny Morales added a 3-for-5 game and scored three of Tech's seven runs.
 
Lefty reliever Eddie Campbell picked up the win (2-0) for the Hokies, allowing a run in 3 1/3 innings of work after entering in the fifth.
 
Radford struck first after Cory Turner walked and Travers singled to lead off the third.   With Turner at third base, Josh Gardiner's squeeze bunt brought him home, and Zach Costello's single on the next play scored Travers to give Radford a 2-0 lead.
 
The Highlanders added another in the top of the sixth on a groundball double play to the right side that scored Mack from third, making it a 3-1 Radford lead.
 
Derrick Brewer was charged with the loss (0-1), allowing both runners he inherited and then another to score in the sixth. 
 
Radford returns home to open a three-game set with Marist beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
