Okamoto handed in a second round 75 (+4) to give her a 36-hole total of 150 (+8).  She moved up one position to fifth in a field of 110 players and is in contention for her first collegiate title – just five strokes out of first place.

Also competing for Radford is senior Amy McCollum who fired an 82.  She was one of three Highlanders with at least one birdie on the day.

The 54-hole event is being held this year at Kingsmill Resort, on the famed River Course designed by Peter Dye.  The River Course hosted the Michelob Championship on the PGA Tour from 1968-2002 and the LPGA Michelob Ultra Open from 2003-2009.  This fall, the LPGA will return to Williamsburg for the Kingsmill Championship.

The course is setup as a 6,907-yard, par-71 championship layout.  There are 21 teams entered in the tournament.

The second round saw Kristen Hamel of William & Mary and Ragna Olafsdottir of St. Leo each drop a hole-in-one.  Hamel aced the 177-yard 2nd hole, while Olafsdottir aced the 157-yard 5th.

Final round action of the annual event tees off tomorrow morning.  For live scoring throughout the tournament visit golfstat.com.
