JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – East Tennessee State put four runs on the board in the third inning to take control and stop Radford's winning streak at six games with a 7-2 win on Tuesday afternoon.
Daniel Wright knocked in a pair of runs for the Highlanders (14-11) – Wright's two-out double to the corner in left field in the second inning gave Radford a 2-0 lead. However, ETSU scored seven unanswered runs.
Zach Costello and
Matt Mack had two hits each for Radford – Mack extended his hitting streak to 12 games.
Four Buccaneers (14-9) had multi-hit games. Dylan Pratt and Andrew Green had two hits and two RBIs each, and Mason Hershey homered in the eighth inning (1).
ETSU's four-run third inning was the difference – eight batters came to the plate and the first four reached base. Pratt doubled in the tying run with one out, then Kerry Doane's groundout RBI to the left side with runners at second and third brought home the go-ahead run.
The Buccaneers made it 6-2 in the seventh on Pratt's second RBI hit, and 7-2 in the eighth on the Hershey home run.
Jimmy Nesselt went five innings and struck out a career-high five, allowing both Radford runs on five hits to earn the win (2-2). Will Carter closed out the game with four scoreless frames to earn his first save.

The Highlanders welcome No. 25 Coastal Carolina for a three-game Big South series beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m.
