DOOMS’ SCHOOL RECORD AND 7 TITLES CONCLUDE WINTHROP INVITATIONAL

RESULTS

ROCK HILL, S.C. – 
Allen Dooms claimed the 100m dash school record with his first-place showing and Radford had seven victories Saturday afternoon in track and field's last day in the Winthrop Invitational.
 
Dooms clocked a 10.50 in the finals to take home the top spot and became Radford's new school-record holder, edging freshman Joseph Betts' mark of 10.59 set at the Wake Forest Open a few weeks back.
 
In the women's 100m dash, Lakei Crews also topped the field with a personal-best time of 12.17.  Her time also stood as the ninth fastest in program history.  
 
Kaise White punched his ticket on the top of the podium by clocking a 48.40 in the 400m.  Tehquin Warrick finished just behind White in second place with a 48.92 and Grant Mitchell took fourth at 50.40.  Warrick would also claim his first outdoor victory in the 200m at 21.72.  Ronquis Posey brought home third place in the same event with a 22.27.
 
Brett Olinger collected his fifth career 400m hurdles victory with a time of 53.25.  The time was the seventh-best in school history and with one more time under 53.52, Olinger would own all Top-10 times at Radford.  David Green also competed in the 400m hurdles and placed fourth with a time of 56.45.
 
Jamiecka Baker also won her first collegiate triple jump event with a PR of 11.31m / 37-01.25 distance.  On the men's side, Antonio Miller grabbed third with his 13.08m / 42-11.00 mark.
           
The 4x100m relay teams performed extremely well today.  The men's squad comprised of Olinger, Posey, Betts and Dooms took first place overall with their time of 42.01.  The women, consisting of Kayla Christian, Crews, Courtni Pannell and Baker combined to run a 48.58 – the ninth best time in program history – and finished runner-up. 
 
The men's 4x400m relay also topped the field.  Warrick, Olinger, Dooms and White recorded a time of 3:14.37 to finalize the first-place performances on the day. 
 
Middle Distance
Shalonda Mitchell garnered a sixth-place performance in the 800m with a personal-best time of 2:20.60 while Maggie Wissler came in ninth at 2:23.10. 
 
Eric Graves and Jake Zimmerman finished back-to-back on the men's side of the 800m.  Graves posted a 1:56.69 while Zimmerman clocked a 1:57.73. 
 
Distance
Hannah Scheren crossed the line in ninth place in the women's 1500m with a time of 5:11.51.  Thomas Keefe claimed a third-place showing on the men's side with his time of 4:00.71. 
 
Hurdles
Pannell and Amber Church placed third and fourth in the finals of the women's 100m hurdles with times of 14.53 and 15.09, respectively.
 
Performing in her first event this year, Samantha Reddington ran a PR and took fourth in the 400m hurdles with a finish of 1:07.38.
 
Throws
In the women's discus, Jordan Wilson threw 34.96m / 114-08 to earn fourth place.  Brian Uthe also competed in the men's discus and recorded a mark of 36.15m / 118-07 and placed eight.
 
Radford intends to send split squads on the Apr. 6-7 weekend.  The Highlanders will either compete in the Liberty Collegiate Invitational or head to Gainesville, Fla. for the Pepsi Relays.
