RADFORD CONTINUES BEST START IN SCHOOL HISTORY; DEFEATS CAMPBELL, 4-3

RADFORD, Va. – Once again the doubles point proved to be the difference as Radford held off Campbell, 4-3, in Big South women's tennis action Saturday afternoon at the RU Tennis Courts.
 
The Highlanders, who are 6-3 in one-point matches this season, improved to 14-5 overall and 3-3 in the league, while the Camels fell to 9-6 and 1-5.
 
In doubles, the freshmen duo of Hannah Crawford and Meg Napolitano improved to 16-3 and secured the team point for Radford with an 8-4 victory on court two. Petra Dajevic and Gemma Valls provided the other triumph, defeating Natasha Afridi and Anais Gomar, 8-3.
 
The Highlanders extended their lead to 3-0 with wins from Mia Drobnjak (6-4, 6-3) and Taylor Newman (6-1, 6-2) on courts three and five, respectively.
 
Along with clinching the match, Napolitano won her 12th straight and moved to a team-best 17-2 on the season with her straight-set win over Katya Yegoreychanko at the final singles position.
 
With the match already decided, each of Campbell's victories came by way of three sets at positions one, two and four.
 
Radford returns to action with a 1 p.m. dual against Winthrop tomorrow afternoon at the RU Tennis Courts.
