RADFORD COLLECTS 10 TITLES ON FINAL DAY OF HIGHLANDER INVITATIONAL

RADFORD, Va. –
Radford track and field collected 10 titles to conclude the final day of the second annual Highlander Invitational Saturday afternoon.
 
The Highlanders swept event titles in the men's 100, 200 and 400m.  Allen Dooms took care of business in the 100m dash with a time of 10.75.  Tehquin Warrick clocked a 21.75 in the 200m to take top honors and Kaise White won the 400m for the second straight year at this meet with a 47.80. 
 
Courtni Pannell clocked a 100m hurdles time of 14.58 and won the event to grab her first outdoor title in the event.  In the men's 110m hurdles, Vincent Wyatt won his fourth event this outdoor season when he crossed the line in 14.20. 
 
Finishing at 18:20.69, Caroline Ratterree won the 5000m by just under 17 seconds.  She set a new personal-best and shaved about three seconds off her previous time.
 
Travis Hudson grabbed his first collegiate outdoor victory in the high jump with a clearance of 1.95m / 6-04.25.  He had three close attempts at 2.09m in order to qualify for junior nationals but came up slightly short.   Nikki Roseberry became a two-time high jump champion at this event with her 1.60m / 5-03.00 top height today.
 
Brian Uthe was the top collegian in the hammer throw with a distance of 49.25m / 161-07.  It stood as his second outdoor victory this year.
 
The final title came in the last race of the day, when an atypical men's 4x400m team hit the lanes.  A “distance” relay team consisting of Thomas KeefeChris Weeks, Ryan Farnan and Sam Keltner ran a combined 3:38.55.
 
There were a number of runner-up finishes in addition for the Highlanders. Warrick finished in second at 47.96 in the 200m just behind White.  Cori Tedesco placed runner-up in the same event on the women's side with a 1:03.91. 
 
Lakei Crews stopped the clock at a personal-best 12.13 and in second place in the women's 100m dash. 
 
In the men's 200m, Warrick, Dooms and White finished 1-2-3.  Led by Warrick's time, Dooms recorded a PR of 21.75 and White finished also recorded a PR of 21.76.  On the women's side, Kayla Christian finished runner-up, clocking a 25.51. 
 
Brett Olinger ran a 52.68, the third fastest time in program history, in the 400m hurdles and garnered a second-place finish.
 
Aimee Veatch grabbed runner-up honors in the hammer throw with a mark of 51.53m / 169-01.  The recorded distance came on her second attempt.
 
Garrett Knudson tossed 13.98m / 45-10.50 in the shot put to take third place.
 
The Highlanders will next compete on May 6 at the Winthrop Last Chance meet in Rock Hill, S.C.
