HIGHLANDERS TOPPED BY ROBERT MORRIS, 2-0

BOX SCORE MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Robert Morris' Jess Martin-Brown scored in each half as Radford Field Hockey was defeated, 2-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Colonial Classic.

Marin-Brown's tallies came in the 27th and 57th minute, respectively, as she tipped in shots during Colonial (1-1) penalty corners. The Highlanders (0-2) put the pressure on late, earning three corners in the final nine minutes, but RMU keeper Paige Neat kept her clean sheet saving back-to-back scoring attempts by junior Alayna Versage and sophomore Ashton Cox in the closing minutes.

Neat recorded three saves for the hosts to earn the shutout. Sidney Encarnacion registered four saves for the Highlanders.

Versage, sophomore Sydney Myrdal and freshman Marianna Parker charted two shots apiece as Radford was out shot, 13-9 on the afternoon. The Colonials also held a 12-7 advantage in penalty corners.

Radford remains on the road next weekend when it faces Ohio on Saturday, Sept. 1 at 1 p.m.
