HIGHLANDERS SET TO FACE OFF IN NORTH CAROLINA AGAINST TWO EAST DIVISION FOES

LIVE STATS (Davidson) LIVE STATS (Appalachian State)

Radford continues its five-game end-of-the-season road swing as it heads to North Carolina for a pair of key NorPac East contests this weekend.  Holding onto a one-game lead on each of their opponents, the Highlanders take on Appalachian State on Friday (6:30 p.m.) and Davidson on Sunday (1:00 p.m).

In its last NorPac East clash, Radford was defeated by Longwood, 5-0, despite a quick corner and two early shots to start the match from Stacey Mackintosh and Ashton Cox. That defeat allowed the second-place Lancers grab a two-game lead over the Highlanders in the conference standings.

The Highlanders travel first to Boone, N.C., to take on Appalachian State. The Mountaineers have dropped their last two matches, a pair of non-conference games against JMU and Rider.  The last time the two teams clashed, Radford emerged victorious, 3-1, behind goals from Sydney Myrdal, Mackintosh, and Meghan Smiga. Radford leads the all-time series 37-11 and has taken three out of the past five matches.

The squad then travels away from the mountains and to Davidson, where they will face the Wildcats.  Davidson has dropped its past three games.  The previous contest between the two teams, back in September, was a tight contest with the Highlanders coming out victorious.  Senior Alayna Versage scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give the Highlanders a 1-0 triumph.  Radford leads this all-time series, 27-14-2, though Davidson had won the three meetings prior to the September game.

The Highlanders look to keep these two teams in their rear-view mirror at the end of this roadtrip, and look to build momentum going into the final regular-season game at Liberty on Nov. 2.
