WHITE’S RUNNER-UP FINISH HIGHLIGHTS DAY ONE OF HILTON GARDEN INVITE

RESULTS

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.
For the second straight week, Kaise White recorded a runner-up showing in the men's 400 meters to guide Radford track and field Friday evening on the first day of the Hilton Garden Inn-vitational hosted by Wake Forest at JDL Fast Track.

Completing the 400-meter run in 49:43 seconds, White was less than a second behind the winning pace of 49:36 set by Western Carolina's Aaron Harris.

Staying on the men's side, Ryan Farnan broke his personal record in the 5,000 meters set two weeks ago at the VT Invitational by crossing the line in 14:59.13 to finish third. His career-best time ranks third on the top-10 chart in program history. In addition, Farnan now holds three of the top-10 times in the 5,000 meters for Radford.

Finishing fourth in the men's weight throw with a toss of 17.53 meters was Curtis Hodge. After placing third in last week's Liberty Open, Hodge picks up his second straight top-5 performance.

Two personal records were set in the women's 60-meter dash as Kayla Christian (7.90) and Kaleice Green (7.99) led the way for the Highlanders by coming in 25th and 38th, respectively.

A week after setting a career-best mark in the women's weight throw, Ashlen Veatch followed her runner-up showing with a ninth-place effort of 16.12 meters. Also competing in the event was Jordan Wilson, who improved her individual-best throw to 14.83 meters to record a 15th-place performance.

Both squads will be back on the starting blocks Saturday morning for the final day of the two-day meet. Live results are available by following this link.
