WOMEN’S TENNIS FALTERS AT ELON, 7-0

ELON, N.C. – Elon ran its winning streak to eight as the Phoenix claimed a 7-0 nonconference women's tennis dual over Radford Monday evening at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
 
Elon moves to 8-1 for the season with the victory and its eight-match winning streak ties for the longest streak since the program made the transition to Division I. The Highlanders fell to 0-5.
 
The Phoenix swept the doubles portion to claim a 1-0 lead and then prevailed in all six singles matches to earn the shutout.
 
Radford returns home for its home and Big South opener on Friday at 2:00 p.m. against Coastal Carolina (2-3). The Chanticleers are scheduled to play Wright State on Wednesday before taking on the Highlanders and Liberty (Saturday) in their visit to the Commonwealth.
