COASTAL CAROLINA, WEST VIRGINIA STATE UP NEXT FOR WOMEN’S TENNIS

RADFORD, Va. – Two neutral site matches are on deck for the Radford women's tennis team this week. The Highlanders battle Coastal Carolina (March 1 – 4:30 p.m.) at Virginia Tech's Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center and West Virginia State (March 3 – 1:00 p.m.) at The Greenbrier Resort's tennis complex in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.

Coming off a 6-1 victory over Wright State, the Chanticleers are 3-3 in the early going of the dual season. RU (0-5) and Coastal last played on March 2, 2012 with the Chants taking a 6-1 decision.

Following their Big South opener, the Highlanders will head north to The Greenbrier Resort for a nonconference clash with West Virginia State (15-1).

The Yellow Jackets, members of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (Division II), opened with 15 straight victories before dropping a 5-4 decision in their last outing to Morehead State on Feb. 20. Ranked 36th in the latest ITA poll, WVSU won its conference title in the fall for the second time in the last six seasons.

Upon returning from the Mountain State, Radford hosts Randolph-Macon, Tuesday, March 5 at 3:00 p.m.
