REESE LEADS HIGHLANDERS IN FINAL ROUND OF MIMOSA HILLS INTERCOLLEGIATE

MORGANTON, N.C. –
The Radford women's golf team recorded its seventh top-10 showing of the season by logging a 655 (323-332) to finish 10th at the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate Tuesday. The two-day, 36-hole tournament was hosted by Appalachian State at Mimosa Hills Country Club.
 
Behind two top-3 individual finishes, the Mountaineers shaved two strokes off their first-round 306 to post a 610 (306-304) and a 10-shot victory over Winthrop. The Eagles returned a 620 (307-313) to the clubhouse, while Jacksonville State and Wofford tied for third at 629.
 
Junior Paige Reese guided the Highlanders on the second day with an 82. The South Hill, Va. native placed 46th in the 66-player field at 166 (84-82). Sophomore Alexandra Austin, who had the overnight lead, tied for 16th at 157 (73-84).
 
Redshirt junior Hayley Hammond concluded in 37th at 163 (80-83) and junior Kirsty Condon tied for 51st at 169 (86-83). Freshman Katie Parrott shaved two shots off her first-round total to place 59th at 180 (91-89).
 
Winthrop's Meagan Wallace claimed the individual title with a 2-over-par 146 (75-71).
 
Radford will have nearly two weeks to prepare for the Big South Women's Golf Championship, which will be held April 14-16 at The Patriot Club in Ninety Six, S.C.
