VINCENT WYATT NAMED BIG SOUTH MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sophomore Vincent Wyatt broke the Radford 110m hurdles record to earn him the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men's Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday. This is the second time this outdoor season Wyatt was named Track Athlete of the Week.

“We have been working on some things the last few weeks in practice with the idea of it paying at the end of the season,” said assistant track and field coach Mark White, who oversees hurdles for RU. “We had a hit a bit of a rough patch time wise because of it, but it's coming together right when we want it to.”

Wyatt, the Atlanta, Ga. native, broke his own Radford record after running 13.79 seconds in the 110m hurdles at the Bob Pollock Invitational hosted by Clemson University Saturday. Wyatt is currently ranked tenth in the NCAA East Region.

The Highlanders return to action this weekend, May 10th – 11th as they travel to the Virginia Challenge hosted by the University of Virginia and the Georgia Tech Invitational.
