RADFORD STUDENT-ATHLETES EXCEL ACADEMICALLY IN 2012-13

RADFORD, Va. – Radford University's student-athletes not only achieved in their respective sports, but also had an exceptional year in the classroom. Of nearly 300 student-athletes, 64 percent achieved a minimum 3.0 GPA during the 2012-13 school year.

Of those nearly 300 student-athletes, over 40 percent finished with a 3.4 GPA or above, earning Dean's List honors. A total of 40 student-athletes attained a perfect 4.0 for the term.

RU nominated its first-ever student-athlete to become a semi-finalist for the prestigious John Wooden Award. Radford had one student-athlete receive the Big South Christenberry Award, one Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year, three academic all-district selections, six National Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities and 11 Big South all-academic selections.

Student-athlete support services program is to provide academic and personal development to all student-athletes. Our top priority is to exhibit academic excellence in the department, graduate student-athletes and prepare them for future learning and career opportunities.
