MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Hayley Hammond carded an 80 in the opening round of the Myrtle Beach Fall Invitational and is tied for 13th, individually, in pacing the Radford women's golf team Monday morning. The two-day, 36-hole tournament is being played at Myrtle Beach National's South Creek Course (par 72, 6,089 yards).

Behind first-round leader Sarah Bae's 4-under-par 68, High Point leads the six-team field at 299. Gardner-Webb is second, 10 shots off the pace at 309. One stroke off that number is Winthrop, which is third at 310. Presbyterian College is fourth at 320, five swings clear of the Highlanders' 325. The Citadel rounds out the team standings in sixth at 342.

Bae's nearest competitor is the Blue Hose's Abby Driscoll, who fired an even-par 72. Winthrop's Jennifer Dilger and Gardner-Webb's Mary Katherine Donovan are tied for third at 1-over-par 73.

Following Hammond's lead was Kirsty Condon, who logged an 81 in her first round and is tied for 17th. Alexandra Austin and Olivia Jay are tied for 23rd at 82, while Paige Reese is 35th after her opening-round 86.

Radford, Presbyterian College and The Citadel will play together in Tuesday's final round, which begins at 7:30 a.m. off the 10th hole for the three squads.
