RADFORD, Va. - After sweeping a pair of games over the weekend at the UNC Asheville Invitational, the Radford men's soccer team heads to Elon on Wednesday for its last non-conference road game of the season. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at Rudd Stadium against the Phoenix.
The Highlanders enter the game with a 3-2-1 overall record and on a two-game winning streak. Joe Mayer earned Big South Player of the Week honors after scoring two more goals at the UNC Asheville Invitational. Mayer, Bismark Amofah, Jo Vetle Rimstad, and Dario Redondo earned all-tournament honors in the wins over Georgia Southern and Howard. Dane Wilson recorded his first shutout in goal in the Howard victory.
Elon is the two-time defending Southern Conference champion and is currently ranked No. 23 in the nation. The Phoenix are 5-5-1 on the season, but fell 1-0 to William & Mary in their last match.
Radford leads the all-time series 9-5-2. The two teams tied exactly a year ago, 1-1 at Rudd Field.
